Jordan and April

This past weekend, Bryan's cousin, Jordan, and his fiance, April came and stayed with us. April had never been to NYC and this was a Christmas-present-trip. They will get married May 23rd and we will head to Bonita Springs, Florida to celebrate with them. We are very happy for them! On Saturday night we met them in Manhattan for some Thai food, a carriage ride in Central Park and a stroll through an empty midtown - in 18 degree weather!

I also finished my January-term accounting class last week. I start the Spring semester today. The beginning of the end! I am looking forward to a new set of classes and I know the next couple of months will fly by. I will be taking four classes: Real Estate Valuation and Analysis, Real Estate Law, Management of Financial Institutions and Business Policy.
Finally for this post, Jonas on a bag. He likes to lie on things (sometimes when we're playing cards on the bed he will come and sit right down on top of them). Last weekend while I was cleaning, I set this plastic bag on the bed. Sure enough, Jonas came, lay down and fell asleep. Here he is awakened by my clicking.

Friends Flew In

Good friends of ours, Katie and Brian and their new son, Alton, flew in for the weekend. They live in San Francisco now but used to live just a few blocks from us on 7th Ave. It was great to see them.

New Years 2009

We started the year off with some food, friends and fireworks. It was an extremely cold night, so we put on our long johns before we headed off to Grand Army Plaza.
Here we are with some of our friends, Gabe and Meg, Greg and Sophia, and Aubrey and Andrea.
Happy New Year's!

Just a start

When I first moved to New York in September 2005, I had good friends who were clamoring for me to start a blog. I didn't feel up to it then- looking for a job and securing one as an Americorps didn't seem glamorous to me. And I thought blogs were to display how glamorous our lives are. The past year I've become a blog reader, however, and have really appreciated feeling "caught up" with friends. So while there most likely won't be any profound philosophy OR celebrity citings on here, perhaps you'll be engaged by the goings on of daily life.
